Pokud je překladač služby DNS konfigurován s vlastní adresou IP a server DNS není spuštěn místně, může Průvodce instalací služby Active Directory Domain Services nainstalovat a nakonfigurovat místní server DNS. Pokud však tento server není během zvýšení úrovně řadiče domény připojen k síti, musí správce po dokončenítohoto zvýšení úrovně nakonfigurovat u místního serveru DNS odpovídajícím způsobem odkazy na kořenové servery.

If the DNS resolver is configured with its own IP address and the DNS server is not running locally, the Active Directory Domain Services Installation Wizard can install and configure the local DNS server. However, if this server is not connected to the network during domain controller promotion then admin needs to appropriately configure root hints of the local DNS server after the completion of the domain controller promotion.
