Für eine vorbereitete Transaktion kann von Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) aus kein Commit ausgeführt werden. Der Server wird heruntergefahren, um die Wiederherstellung des Ressourcen-Managers (RM) zu initiieren. Nach seiner Wiederherstellung fragt der RM den Transaktions-Manager nach dem Ergebnis der unsicheren Transaktion ab und führt entsprechenden einen Commit oder ein Rollback aus.
